Artist JT Ojerio, the creative mind behind AlohaDeMele and owner of the print studio Studio Hale, embarked on a journey familiar to many local Hawai’i residents: a path shaped by sports and family. However, life often demands a change in direction, and JT's story exemplifies this truth. After high school, she delved into the realm of physical health and fitness, a path she pursued for several years. Yet, a shift occurred when she confronted health challenges, prompting a transformative pivot.
Upon her return home in 2020, JT Ojerio found herself at a crossroads, unsure of her next steps. Yet, in a series of events, the artwork by AlohaDeMele began.
JT's story is a reminder not to underestimate the power of circumstances. Even if firmly entrenched in an 'ideal career,' her journey demonstrates the value of embracing the unknown. Life's turns need not confine us to a singular path forever. Her experiences urge us to venture into uncharted territories, fostering personal growth.
