How does a keiki know what career path they want to pursue if they don’t even understand what a job actually entails?
THE OPPORTUNITY
The 'Oihana Career Exploration Courses project is an initiative designed to empower the youth of Hawai'i by providing them with access to a diverse array of career paths and local role models.
It aims to inspire and inform students (grades 7 - 12) about the multitude of opportunities available to them, while equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in their future careers.
Initial Career Pathways
The project encompasses the creation of nine distinct courses, each centered around a specific profession, to provide a broad spectrum of career exploration opportunities for students.

A Comprehensive Library of Career Pathways

Aligning with Local Culture and Economic Needs
We recognize the importance of grounding education in local realities, thus, the courses will not only guide keiki in their career choices but also instill a sense of kuleana to contribute positively to our islands' future.
